Ashton Market Hall re-opens to shoppers on November 28th 2008. This is roughly four and a half years after the hall was gutted by fire in 2004.
The photographs on this page offer you a preview of what the inside of the re-built Market Hall is like. The next page gives you a look behind the scenes!
The Market Hall was originally all on one level, but the opportunity has been taken to re-design the building to make the best use of the space. In addition to the ground floor sales area, there is a new basement which houses all the services along with facilities for the market traders. There is a new mezzanine level running around two sides of the building which houses the market offices, a new meeting room overlooking the market floor and a series of small offices that will provide accommodation for new start-up businesses.
