The Market Hall was originally all on one level, but the opportunity has been taken to re-design the building to make the best use of the space. In addition to the ground floor sales area, there is a new basement which houses all the services along with facilities for the market traders. This includes a large room for sorting waste for recycling. There is a rest room for traders along with additional storage facilities.
There is a new mezzanine level running around two sides of the building which houses the market offices, a new meeting room overlooking the market sales floor and a series of small offices that will provide accommodation for new start-up businesses.

The maze of services below the main market floor. The 12 foot high tank on the right holds 88,000 gallons of water for the sprinkler system.
